I think that it is about time we talk about a topic that is highly debated among the otaku community, hentai and ecchi.

First, let me explain one thing. I was surprised to find out that some people don't know what "ecchi" is. I would expect people of the otaku community to know but even a good percentage of them don't know either, which is quite shocking. Hentai is a genre of manga or anime that is very lewd and inappropriate. It contains nudity and very highly sexually suggestive themes and imagery. In short, hentai is pornography in anime or manga form.

However, ecchi is borderline pornography. It is lewd, inappropriate, contains nudity, and has very sexually suggestive themes and images, just like hentai. HOWEVER, it is not considered hentai simply because it doesn't display the actual image of genitalia...Yup. Some might say that it's "clean pornography"

Now, I will be the first to admit: I read ecchi. I think it is quite amusing. The only reason why is because the situations and story behind things occurring (coughcoughsexcoughcough) is ridiculous and at most times is ABSOLUTELY 100% hilarious. I think it is okay to watch or read ecchi. I think it's also okay to watch or read hentai. It's all up to you. Just don't get too deep into it and don't get addicted. Things get messy at that point.

On one final note, I will say this: the girls that are drawn are always attractive. It's pretty difficult to find a Japanese girl in real life that looks that way, but still... yeah...
