Watching Another (while Haikyu! will be a week late)

So, since Haikyu! will be behind by one week, for the time being I will be doing reviews of "another" (haha, get it!) show that I have been watching in my spare time. Yes, I know it was a bad joke, but what do you expect. It was right there.

Anyway, I recently started watching Another. I haven't really watched that many horror anime before but this might change my perception of them. I have been keeping my eye out on Another for a while. I heard it was good, but now I can confirm that it is. It is so suspenseful and really makes you curious about what the hell is the secret that Class 3 (I think it's Class 3) is hiding from the protagonist.

I have gotten as far as episode 4 and my only complaint is this...

WHY THE HELL DO YOU KILL 2...I REPEAT, 2 CHARACTERS WITHIN 2 EPISODES! DON'T DO THAT!

Those were some serious "What the fuck!?" moments. But other than that, I thought it was pretty good. I plan on finishing it and giving my own analysis of it when I'm done.

Haikyu! Episode 11 Review

I was kinda disappointed this episode. The ace wing-spiker for Fukurodani High's team demanded that no more tosses be sent his way. I was sure that Karasuno would win for sure. I thought that Karasuno had put enough pressure on Fukurodani's team that they would be able to grab one final win. But, Fukurodani straight out shreked Karasuno in the end, on top of the fact that the last point was a massive spike from Fukurodani's ace. Talk about insult to injury!

Anyway, this episode pretty much just shows how a team shouldn't get confident too quickly, no matter what the situation is. It also highlights the skills that Karasuno's team need to work on and hone before the spring season starts.

I think that this is exactly what the team needed to allow them to see and open up their eyes to what skills they needed, learn how other teams play, and get back into the swing of things because there is no other for their team to become stronger without putting their techniques to the test.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty solid episode. On a side note, the ending scene with the barbeque...

THAT

WAS

GREAT!!!

I mean, how could you not appreciate the appearance of all that delicious meat. I was getting sooooo damn hungry. I had a craving for teriyaki and orange chicken afterwards. Mmmmm, orange chicken. Okay, I need to stop cause I'm getting hungry again. But yeah, that scene was great as well as hysterical when the new team manager, Hitoka
was trying to get some of the meat. She was smaller than all the guys there so she was scared and she got surrounded by all of them. I forgot who said it but they said that it appeared suspicious how she was getting surrounded like that, as if she was about to be gang raped XD

Anyway, this episode was great. I also wanted to point out that I watch my anime on Crunchyroll and I was using a friends account since they have premium which allows me to have simulcast, meaning I can watch it the same time it airs in Japan. Unfortunately, it seems that my friend either canceled her premium subscription or hasn't paid the fee yet, so it no longer has the simulcast active which means I won't be able to do a review for Haikyu! Episode 12 next week. That will come the week afterwards. I'll come up with something for you guys in the meantime

Hope you guys enjoyed this review!

Haikyu! Episode 10 Review

Okay, so in this episode I really felt that things were coming together for the Karasuno team. Things were finally beginning to click and they were actually having a good match. They all finally honed their skills and were able to do well for once during the entire span of the camp. To me, this translates as the team wanted to become better very bad and worked their butts off and never gave up this entire time not just for themselves, but for each other member of their team.

The highlights of this episode was most definitely the synchronized attack and Hinata's feint. These two offense plays are plays that my own volleyball started using last season and they prove to be really effective. It was great to see that Kageyama was able to get his set right and Hinata and Kageyama began to trust each other again. It really shows how the team really comes together and improves together.

Also, I wanted to talk about Tsukishima becoming a greater blocker. We get to see a bit of some character development with him during this episode. He actually communicated with another person and tried to get the block. He actually assessed how the spiker hit and what was necessary in order to stop them from getting past the net. That is something that is really important for a blocker to do. So, I would say that not only is he growing as a person or a character in the story, but he is also growing as a volleyball player.

Hopefully, Episode 11 is just as exciting if not more. I'll have another episode review for you by then. Anyway, see you guys later!

Hentai Vs. Ecchi

Minamoto-kun Monogatari
Example of Ecchi
I think that it is about time we talk about a topic that is highly debated among the otaku community, hentai and ecchi.

First, let me explain one thing. I was surprised to find out that some people don't know what "ecchi" is. I would expect people of the otaku community to know but even a good percentage of them don't know either, which is quite shocking. Hentai is a genre of manga or anime that is very lewd and inappropriate. It contains nudity and very highly sexually suggestive themes and imagery. In short, hentai is pornography in anime or manga form.
However, ecchi is borderline pornography. It is lewd, inappropriate, contains nudity, and has very sexually suggestive themes and images, just like hentai. HOWEVER, it is not considered hentai simply because it doesn't display the actual image of genitalia...Yup. Some might say that it's "clean pornography"
Nozoki Ana
Example of Hentai
Now, I will be the first to admit: I read ecchi. I think it is quite amusing. The only reason why is because the situations and story behind things occurring (coughcoughsexcoughcough) is ridiculous and at most times is ABSOLUTELY 100% hilarious. I think it is okay to watch or read ecchi. I think it's also okay to watch or read hentai. It's all up to you. Just don't get too deep into it and don't get addicted. Things get messy at that point.
On one final note, I will say this: the girls that are drawn are always attractive. It's pretty difficult to find a Japanese girl in real life that looks that way, but still... yeah...

Caught Up With Haikyu! (Thinking of DBS next)

FINALLY!  I CAUGHT UP WITH HAIKYU!

I still don't have THAT much time yet. But at least I was able to catch up with one anime. I'm up to the most recent episode and it feels great but then at the same time, I hate it because I have to wait until next week for the next episode.

UGGGHHHHH! THE WAIT TIME IS COMPLETE TORTURE! But, I guess we can all agree that sometimes it is worth it. So, starting with next weeks episode I will be reviewing Haikyu! This means I will start reviewing at Episode 10. If you haven't looked at Haikyu! for yourself, then I suggest that you do that now or don't look at my posts about it to avoid spoilers.

Meanwhile, I will also try to catch up on other anime. I really want to look at DragonBall Super. I always appreciated the work of Akira Toriyama, plus I kinda was anticipating the anime after watching Battle of the Gods and Resurrection of F. Finally, I think I'm starting to get back into my groove with anime. I'll eventually start watching mor anime as time goes by, which also means more reviews so be on the lookout

Anyway, I'll see you guys next week... or at some other point in time.

Best Places For Otaku Gear

The number one thing that an otaku loves to do is get their gear for cheap. This is includes me especially. I know that you all want to know how to get all these cool things for cheap so I'm gonna give you a list of the places that I look through to find my otaku gear for cheap, especially my manga.

  • RightStuf- It's a website specifically made for otaku stuf. I'm not exactly sure if it sells things like accessories and others of that nature, but it definitely sells DVD's of animes and volumes of manga. If you get a membership you can get deal, or I think you get the deals even without a membership. Also, every week or every other week, there is a sale/discount on manga made from specific publishers. They have lots of deals to take advantage ofImage result for rightstuf logo

  • Amazon- This is in general good for otaku gear and manga. However, you do need to be pretty careful, especially if you're buying manga or clothes. Although a manga may seem to be exactly what you want, it just might end up not being of satisfactory condition or in some language that you don't want or don't understand. It's okay to buy from here because things tend to be quite affordable and cheap but caveat emptor. Just be sure its exactly what you want.Image result for amazon logo

  • Book Depository- It doesn't deliver JUST manga but even other kinds of books and there is NO SHIPPING FEE. This is pretty much the only reason why its on the list, because there is no shipping. Haha! But think about it, no one ever complains about getting manga for cheapImage result for book depository logo

  • Image result for barnes and noble logo
    • Barnes & Noble- People typically complain about it being unsatisfactory, but in my opinion, I think it has a pretty good selection. Buy from online, don't go in store to get it because that assures that that manga was touched and stuff was done to it by many other people, was read by many other people and its condition isn't the best because so many other people have flipped through those pages and threw it around

    Haikyuu! Episode 1

So I just finished watching the first episode of S2 of Haikyu!! I'm really happy about getting back into anime again. I just couldnt stop smiling while watching it.

Image result for haikyuu season 2
As far as first epsidoes go, this was FUCKING AWESOME! I was smiling and laughing the whole time. It  felt really good to see the whole team again. Some things that I  really enjoyed about it was the animation. I felt like the animation really changed from S1, like it stepped up its game. It looked so much more crisp and smooth and dynamic that I thought that it was produced by a different group. Im nearly convinced that it was.

It was really action packed and it did a good job of going over what happened last season. I think it really drove the point home of how bad their team wanted to kick some ass and become a better and stronger team, which I understand since I'm a volleyball player myself.

I found it really exciting and really liked how they set up all the rivals like that really tall hitter, who Hinata calls "Japan" (as you can see, I cant really remember the the guy's  name or what school he's from).

All in all, it was funny, it was exciting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll most definitely will be watching more of this and will be updating. I probably won't be going episode by episode since I'm already behind 6  episodes so I'll review them in bulk until I'm officially caught up and then I'll do single episodes

    Anyway, until next time guys!
